Dear Julia (Review)
All Elaine Hamilton ever wanted to be was a cook, and she's not too bad at it either! Unfortunately, her famous mother doesn't recognize that, and wants her to go into politics.
All Isadora Wilhelminetta Fischburger ever wanted to be was famous, but she's not doing such a great job of getting there.
Fortunately, Elaine might be able to help.
But, Elaine doesn't want to be famous. Dear Julia follows two rather normal girls (with very un-normal families) with dreams through trials and successes. Amy Bronwen Zemser (Author of Beyond the Mango Tree has written a delightful, easy to read book that is great for kids of all ages.
It wasn't my typical kind of book (I go for adventure normally), but I found Dear Julia to be a fun break from all the heavy plots. It was light and even funny, with quite an adorable cover.
The only think that worried me was the cross-dressing... :\ but that's just me.
